Maranatha Baptist Church History

 

 

1975 - 1985       

  • First service with 27 people at the Northampton Ladies Club (1975)

  • Maranatha Baptist Church Charter Service (1976)

  • First unofficial service in new building first official (Sunday) meeting in new building (1977)

  • Pastor Coffey called to work as Youth Pastor (1978)Fifth anniversary of the Church Sanctuary dedicated (1981)

  • Bro. Alverson resigned and moved to SC(1981)

  • Brother Coffey is the interim pastor(1981)

  • Pastor Coffey is selected as the Pastor of Maranatha(1981)

  • Doug Weed came as Youth Director (1982)

  • Doug Weed ordained as Youth/Associate Pastor (1984)

  • Gym construction begins (1985)

1986-1996

  • Office addition construction begins parking lot improvement begin (1988)

  • Doug Weed resigned to be a missionary (1991)

  • Glenn Stevenson called to serve as Assistant to the Pastor (1991)

  • Glenn Stevenson left to take a pastorate in MD (1996)

 

1997 - 2007

  • Garage building constructed (1998)

  • Pastor Ramsey called as Assistant to Pastor (1999)

  • Remodel sanctuary (2000)

  • Build carport (2002)

  • Started Short Pump Church—Pastor Nate Clark

  • Construct office wing, Build sign by highway

  • Church is debt free, Beau Williams called for Music/Children's Ministry

  • Remodel kitchen

 

2008 - 2018

  • Pastor Ramsey left to take a pastorate in SC (2016)

  • Pastor Monteith arrived serve as Youth Pastor (2016)

  • Beau Williams resigns from Maranatha staff (2017)

  • Pastor Monteith is voted as Co-Pastor & future pastor upon Pastor Coffey’s retirement (2017)

  • Jacob Heneise called to serve as  Music/Youth Director (2018)

 

2019 - Present

  • Pastor Coffey retires and Pastor Monteith becomes Senior Pastor(2019)

  • Jacob Heneise resigns from Maranatha staff(2019)
